Why Register In the BVI?

You can register your vessel from anywhere in the world. Neither you nor your yacht must come to the BVI.
You don't need to carry a British Passport for your ship to carry the Red Ensign. If you are not a citizen of the U.K. or a British Territory, you can still fly the Red Ensign by registering it under your BVI company which we can form for you.
Ships which fly the Red Ensign are entitled to the support of British Consular and High Commission and Royal Naval protection
The British Virgin Islands certificate is recognized worldwide

Document Checklist For New Registrations

• Proposed Name of Vessel
• Original Bill of Sale
• Certified True Copy of Certificate of Incorporation
• Builder Certificate
• Certificate of Survey / Tonnage Certificate
• Certificate of Good Standing (if Buyer's company is more than 6 months old)
• Closed Transcript (if vessel is registered in another British jurisdiction)
• Deletion Certificate (if vessel is registered in non-British jurisdiction)
• Certified True Copy of passport copy of director/beneficial owners (from Buyer)
• Signed Copy of Register of Director (if owned by a company)
• Signed Copy of Appointment of Director (if owned by a company)
• Appointment of Authorised Officer (We will provide. You are to sign & seal)
• Appointment of Authorised Representative (We will provide. You are to sign & seal)
• A declaration of the purpose & use of vessel (We will provide sample. You are to complete and sign)
  

Additional Document For New Jurisdiction Registrations
If your vessel was formerly registered in a jurisdiction but was deregistered by the current or former owners, you will need an affidavit from the former owners attesting to that fact. This registration will be handled as a new registration and requires the affidavit in addition to the other documents required for a new registation
